Loner

LONER

I knew you wouldn’t let me down,
Though I knew I thought wrong,
I just thought of you and kept going strong,
Even when times were rough,
You helped me through,
An unbreakable friendship,
That’s what we knew,
But time has its ways of changing things,
When I decided to leave,
You stuck around and tried to be brave,
I thought you were foolish,
To weak to understand,
All the pain and agony,
That was left at hand,
So I left without a word,
Breaking the last cord,
To our friendship,
With a snap and a tug,
I felt my heart shatter,
Leaving me on the ground,
Weeping my sorrows,
So no one can hold,
All my pain and sorrows,
So they melt into the ground,
But I stood with my head held high,
Up towards the dark blue sky,
Wishing it could be another way,
Hearing a voice call my name,
I turn around,
Seeing ice blue eyes,
I melt into the ground,
You say you were wrong,
That you weren’t ment to be brave,
But I think differently,
So I stand my ground,
Not wanting to meet your gaze,
I look to the ground,
You say that you loved me,
That everything turned bright,
While I fall into the darkness,
On this cold winter night,
I say I love you,
But you cast me away,
So I fall into the darkness,
Into the snow,
Coldness is my heart,
As I begin to turn numb,
The world fades silently,
Into the cold ground,
As I take my last breath,
I vision you,
You say you love me one last time,
But I cast you away,
So I sink into the darkness,
With a cold heart,
Of a loner.
