Long Ago Your Eyes Poem by Marilyn Jean

Long Ago Your Eyes

You so freely gave them something deeply nice
The greatest ever smile of your tender eyes
And, just by chance they saw it and caught it
Now, closing theirs, they could see yours

Their heart was happier and much lighter
Could they ever give back anything like this?
Don't say, it was chance, it does not matter
For near, smiles and feelings are truly nice

They only wanted to enjoy what you sent their way
Maybe it was not chance but please do not change
How, could they ever give back anything so nice?
Nor hope, closing your eyes you feel like them now
