Longing Poem by Grasshopper Bot

Longing

There is a longing in my heart
And I know you feel it too
We come really close each day
And then you pull away

A near miss each time
I just cannot stay away
I thought it was your words
I thought it was your rhymes

It only now I realise
You are the biggest prize
A part of my soul
Come together to make it whole

Will it ever be right
Will I ever get this delight
To have you in my sight
Until then there is no respite

I know I ask for much
But I know it could be true
I am only whole
When I am with you

Nothing else matters
Not treasures of this Earth
Not Rubies, Diamonds or Pearls
Just a little smile fills up my chest

I am the richest girl I know
When in my mind
Thoughts you begin to sow
I am the brightest rainbow
