Looking Back At 2018

Rating: 5.0

Looking back at 2018
Life has taught me great lessons
Where I mistook fake pearl for real
And adorned myself with its shiny luster

My brain kept me believing
Crap that isn't true at all
My pearl always shined, never glew
Foolish me, I never knew

Till Dad intervened, and made me buy
Gold, refined in fire, that I may be rich
White garments, that I may cover my nakedness
Eyesalve, that anoint my eyes to see

And I became my Dad's
In his presence I rejoice
Filled with his love that I do not thirst
For any human love that bursts

I mistook fake pearl for real And adorned myself with its shiny luster..very well expressed, this is the futility of human emotions and you understood it and God takes cares of you. thank u dear poetess. Susheela, .
