Susheela Shiju

How Long - Poem by Susheela Shiju

Till death separates us
You will always be my love
As I remember the joy on your face
When you first saw me

With one tight hug of yours
You filled my emptiness
And the joy I received
Is far beyond my imagination

Angels looked down
They saw you and me
They knew we will make
Heaven on earth

They became jealous of you and me
Didn't allow God to unite us
In holy matrimony
Oh how could they!

When God looked down
And saw you and me
He knew we will make
Heaven on earth

God became jealous of you and me
Didn't allow angels to bring the prayers
Offered by us
To unite us in holy matrimony

Here we are
You and me
At two different poles of the earth
In deep love and brokenness

I pen down my pain daily
At night I cry with my pillow
How long this separation
How long this brokenness

Another excellent poem. Great flow of words, that pictures from the time you met till you both parted. Praying you both meet each other again soon, and we see new poems from you that describes your joining together – poems of joy and dance. May both of you abide in love with each other and build Heaven on Earth. God Bless. Good Job. Keep it up. (Report)Reply
