Looking Through - Poem by Christal Carpenter

this will be the test of time
test of my patients

I'm not about to lie
to give you salvation

if you ever see me
looking at you

I'm looking through,
I'm looking through

I got past you
past your degration

I finally see me
free of temptation

to pull you away
into the water

even though you
deserve to drown

if you ever see me
looking at you

I'm looking through,
I'm looking through

thankfully for you
I'm looking through
