Lost - Poem by Not Here

Speak to me, tell me you love me.
Shake me, let me know you see.
I am standing here, talking to you.
Respond to my scratches
Scream in the mirror.
I do not respond.

Swallow the pill
They say it will help
Sip the water
The pill is sour
I cannot be helped.
I am lost to this disease.

My mind wanders.
I lose my grip on reality
I swallow the pill
I become numb
I become vacant
I am lost
