Sitting by the side of window
I see a group of school children.
They shout, cry they laugh and smile,
In them I see my childhood shadow.
I also had a bright morning, a sky
an open lively canvas of nature.
I used to run, jump and play there
with a desire to fly as bird in high.
I knew the hollow of any tree
around our household or school with
birds' nestlings and their nest,
I had a joyful life carefree.
Along the dry bed of hilly brook
we walked with friends in winter.
We roamed along the wide meadow
'N' watched mountains casting look.
Alas! those days had flown away
with time never to be back anymore.
My grey hair and wrinkled face
can't get back those golden days.
The poem is lovely but it differs in philosophy from mine I aim to live to the end in smiles, laughter, levity and playfulness as a child forever
In a matter of twenty lines, you have painted a beautiful picture of a childhood of a distant past by employing the technique of flashback. The entire scene has been created succinctly. The beauty of the choicest words comes alive at every stage of the narrative. Thanks.
Sitting by side window I see a group of school children and understand about their activities. Through your poem I keep of pictures my duties days. Children shout, cry, play and read so lovely I feel. Wonderful realizations and excellent composition. Thanks for sharing.
Yes children's shout annoy us for some time yet it fills the heart with joy..A dream world gone in memory..lost but we must be with kids to enjoy nice poem :)

I can so much relate to this poem! It has roused in me such nostalgic longing for my own childhood, so very similar to the one described here! I too look with a kind of jealousy all students... especially school children! Enjoyed!
