Love And Life Poem by Ravi Kopra

Love And Life

Rating: 5.0

They both in late forties
are having dinner in a restaurant.
They cut pieces of T-bone steak, eat
with mashed potatoes and gravy
but hardly see eye to eye
or say a single word to
each other. They finish
their meal, head home in
their car fully ignoring
each other as if the other
had no existance in this world.
They head to their own
beds rooms to sleep
silently in peace without
saying good night to
each other. They were
in love when got married
and could not live without
each other. Now they can't
stand each other but took
vows long ago not to part
from each other. Love can
get worn out like old clothes
that need to be cast off
but hard to let them go
lest being fully nude.
They come at a price that
many sometimes can't afford
and live lives that they abhor.
Love makes your life and
destroys it too.
