Love Came, Two Poems Poem by Ravi Kopra

Love Came, Two Poems

Rating: 5.0

Love came
by Abu-Said Abil-Kheir

Love came
flowed like blood
beneath skin, through veins
emptied me of my self
filled me
with the Beloved
till every limb
every organ was seized
and occupied
till only
my name remains.
the rest is It.

— from The Drunken Universe.Translated from Persian by Peter Lamborn Wilson and Nasrollah

*****

Love came
flowed into my heart, my soul
emptied me of my self
filled me with peace
till I glowed passionately
and what remained of me
was all hers.
She was love
pure love.
