Love Doesn't Break Us Poem by Chrystal Von

Love Doesn't Break Us

We say words like
'Love hurt me'
We use excuses, like
'I'm scared of love'

What is Love?
Love is kind.
It helps us serve
Those in our life.

Love is Patient,
It doesn't keep score,
So how can we say
'Love made it war'?

It's people that hurt,
That accuse and cause pain.
It's our perception of Love
that drives us insane.

We can't blame Love
For breaking our hearts.
Love doesn't do those things.
Love doesn't break us

We allow those we Love to.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I have had to learn that emotions do not cause the damage to our hearts and minds. It's those who use those emotions against us that cause the worst damage.
