A dark alleyway
Of broken promises
Hope fades into the black
And blackest of blacks hide
Demons within their folds
A succubus, a goblin
Greed and lust
All manner of vile creatures
Enable love for their treacheries
Trickery becomes second nature
In this game of pride
An achievement to receive
The most gained physically
Through lies and deception
And millions fall victim
To this vicious game
But
Not all is lost
Whenever demons reign
In the minds of innocents
A sliver stays
Flowers bloom
When given any opportunity
They reach through the depths
And towards scraps of light
That pierce, quite wonderfully,
through demon flesh
leaving gaping holes
and a game of hate
of vitriol bitterness
and advantages or lies
can be paused for a moment
as a sweet smile ignites
the hearts of the broken
