Love Is Not A Sinking Ship Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Love Is Not A Sinking Ship

Rating: 4.5

I keep you in my deep-most part of heart
As I took risk and strove hard to win your love.
Getting a wench is risk -free from a mart
as they toast love-fest and tempt the young to vow.

We ran round in circles to meet face to face
but the first meet now makes her on his lap, lie.
They ride on bikes as they're in a horse race
and lose their souls in a crash saying bye.

Our love is not a cracked sinking ship.
It'll brave all the storms with no alarm.
The anchor of it won't let it dip
and my wounds are healed by your looks, the balm.

When the fruit of love is plucked from the tallest tree,
the gates of heaven open without the key.

A nice romantic poem, well articulated and graced with Shakespearian rhyme pattern. I like the conviction of the poet on the mutual unshakeable love portrayed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
