Love Me Without Reference Or Scorn Poem by Mark Heathcote

Love Me Without Reference Or Scorn

Love me without reference or scorn.
Sail far from the shore.
For I am a siren singing above the fireworks and the storm.

Love me in deference and without scorn forever more.
For I am an uninhibited blackbird melodically singing
With a complete disregard for my heart
Like seamen washed overboard.

Love me without reference or scorn.
Sail far from the shore.
For I am a siren singing above the fireworks and the storm.

Love me in defiance. I'll carry your heart and soul.
To the depths of despair in love,
Love me till the situation reaches its absolute nadir.
And no SOS or radar will ever bring me home.

And no SOS or radar will ever bring me home my drowning dear.
