Love's Paradox Poem by Anshul Gupta

Love's Paradox

I am hurt by love
But how can love hurt?
If my love is true I cannot be hurt.

My love is true
But I am feeling pain in my heart
Why this pain if I am not hurt.

I know a heart full of love cannot be hurt
But who is this who's hurt.

May be its wrong that a heart full of love cannot be hurt
May be only whom I love can possibly hurt this heart.

For who else but its lover plucks the flower
and end its lease of life
'My love' and only 'My love' has the liberty to hurt me
Because she is not only my love but also my wife!

Very deep thinking. So true, only those we really love can hurt us. And then it is perhaps still because we do not love them enough (?) . I heard about htis metaphor of an orange. If we squeeze an orange, orange juice will come out. Just because that is the only thing that is in it. If we would allow only love inside of us, that would be the only thing that can come out, no matter how hard people squeeze us. But perhaps that is something for saints. Perhaps worth trying to get step by step a bit closer to that sainthood where we would have only unconditional love in us. I know it is hard and I know how very, very far I am still away from that. But every thought of anger, frustration or hate we can replace with a thought of love, inspiration and kindness brings us a small step closer. Just writing as my thoughts pass by. Great poem.

I think i could understand what the poems depicts, some sense of pain? not too sure... but i want to say, where there is love there is also hurt my friend, sometimes for the negativism but mostly for the positivism.... and she is your sold mate, your wife after all :)
