Love speaks to the soul

Love is a beautiful thing
Its an oft repeated phrase
But it conveys an undying faith
In the divinity of love;

In the same breath, the mental psyche is an equally precious thing
One takes refuge in the fact
That love is the soul of the mind
And the heart is the source of love;

As feminine feminist, I pooh-poohed the idea
Of complete surrender of the soul to love's dictates
But I find that I can be pliant
Unless provoked into a show of my spirited self;

If the self is the ego, justly or unjustly,
Then one thinks with the mind and soul
And feels with the heart and soul
But loves with all of one's soul;

Undying love for my husband, I possess,
But there is place in my heart for more romantic love with the giver
For a society without music and colours
Would be a soul without love;

Money brings forth joy in its receiver
And with its existence in one's life,
There are music and colours in the heart
And the dance of life in the soul and the mind.
