Lovely, Random Memories Poem by Susy Evelyne

Lovely, Random Memories

Rating: 4.8

You once brought home an octopus to cook.

You made me a ballet dress
in floaty green-blue Paisley organza!

We went to see Monsieur Hulot's Holiday together
in the waterside cinema. You laughed most
at the silly secretary with her ridiculous walk,
trotting sideways off the kerb.

These three random memories came to me today.
Lovely, happy, extraordinary memories,
bright as a coral sea.

I dive into them.

Great humour. I love the idea of diving into memories. Using happy memories in this way helps to maintain happiness.

The poem has such simple charm...! . Though random memories... they delight the reader along with the poet! ! Lovely reminiscences! Enjoyed! !

Floaty green-blue Paisley organza. Phew, that sounds like one heck of a colour. I get lots of random memories myself - some good, some not so good. Shame we can't turn the brain off now and again, or re-boot it.

you said it, Susy, I dive into them, this most aptly describes the way we launch ourselves into reminiscences. excellent poem.
