Loves Me Not Poem by Ima Ryma

Loves Me Not

I took a feathered quill and wrote
To my beloved from my heart,
A how much she meant to me note,
And pressed some flowers on for art.
I told her that without her, I
Could not imagine life beyond.
I asked that she place her reply
Where we first did meet by the pond.
I sealed my letter with a kiss,
And had it delivered to her.
I now hear back in hopeful bliss
That I do get good news for sure.

The letter back starts out, 'Dear John...'
I am a disappointed swan.
