Lovestruck And Blind Poem by Lee Boueri

Lovestruck And Blind

Lovestruck

You snapped out of my robotic trance
Love was furthest from my mind
Well past my use by for another romance
Yet here I stand, lovestruck and blind

It seems the gods play dice with the hearts of men
My wings are singed from our previous game
I'm still the moth that I was then
The love struck fool once again

This old moth should know better
Still nursing wounds and scarring burns
You'd think I'd learn that love can be bitter
When life kicks in and excitement turns

I ask myself should that turn happen
Will you get sick of seeing me there
When the pressures of life start seeping in
Will you still care?
