Low And Destructive Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Low And Destructive

Low and destructive.
A behavior that threatens,
To end the meaning of trust.
And in such public displayed ways.
That foundations crumbling,
Would take a miracle to save.
But yet,
The one at the helm overwhelmed...
With self importance and image.
Can not divert a sinking ship.
In fear those who follow,
Will discover one who postures...
Is and has always been,
An imposter of facts.
Sold to find one's competence,
More deluded and fictioned.
However,
All have vowed to stay committed...
To an agenda that promises,
A disaster they could have prevented.
But too late in the game,
They all stayed playing bluff.
And down with bluff they go.
Until up from the gutter,
All are observed to crawl.
Although,
Remain they do impeccably dressed.
Keeping the image yet leaving the World,
In total chaos and complete distress.
