Lynn Named Her First Child 'satellite' Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Lynn Named Her First Child 'satellite'

Lynn knowingly enrolled in family disappointment
Passed on the genes of rootless migration
Conceived a child thinking it was only a temporary situation

Starter marriages for playacting children
For some reason, resentment of the two most likely choices
A lifetime of intimacy, a lifetime of intimate snippets

Lynn imbued her first offspring with hot footed impatience
Not being able to stay with a thing or a person for very long
She escaped the future cataloguing of repeated failures

The child of Lynn sprinted into orbit
Felt the threatened re-entry of consistency
The launch of divorce tears the nervous atmosphere apart
