Make America Sane, For Once Poem by Mike Smith

Make America Sane, For Once

Rating: 3.8

Make America great again
And how should we do it
Well first let's build a wall
To keep out our neighbors to the south
They don't look like me so that's pretty frightening
Oh, and by the way
Let's make those same neighbors we're afraid of and bigoted towards
Pay for construction of that wall
I mean they must have tons of money to throw around
That's why their coming here by the thousands to look for low paying, labor intensive jobs without benefits
And speaking of benefits
You know how just any average joe can go to the doctors office
And get timely medical attention for the problems that ail them
Let's change that
It's really only the wealthy people
With the good jobs and the high wages
Who really ever need to be cared for by licensed professionals
The rest can make due with band aids and aspirin I'm sure
Also, those pesky Muslims
By god they scare the hell out of me
I think it's their funny hats
And their backward cousins with the rocket launchers
Let's not let any more of those in
They talk different and their women sometimes wear hooded coats even in the summer
It's confusing
And I don't like it
And while we're at it
Let's discriminate against the ones already here
The American born citizens
Who have all the same rights that I do
We should make them feel like the lesser beings
The savages they are
No matter how law abiding
Or how well contributing to society they might be
And as far as terrorists go
We can't shut down Guantanamo
Then we'd have to torture people right here in America
I'm not a legislator so I don't know
But I think that's probably illegal
No, let's keep the water boarding and the sleep deprivation
The malnutrition and the beatings
Let's keep that stuff across the water where I don't have to think about it much
The other thing I think we should do
Is to call people names
High standing people
Well respected ones
People whose IQ likely double my own
Let's say their stupid
Let's call them idiots and make up false 'facts' to back those opinions up
That'll show those stupid idiots not to support me
Oh Me
How I very much love me
How couldn't I
I'm just so very great you know
I bet everybody loves me
I know they do
That's why they watch my tv show
And don't mind when I run my businesses into the ground
Then tell them how brilliant a leader
A builder
An innovator
And an orator I am
Wait a second
...
I better run for president
My country
No
The entire world!
Deserves me
All hail the O' Mighty Me

Mike, I am British, and as such I have always felt it was not my place to comment on the politics of another country. However, I think this is an apt time to share with you a clerihew which I wrote about said Mr Trump, but have not uploaded to PH in case it offended folk, but I think it is in the right context here. That huge great ego, Donald Trump, Was one day sitting on his rump, How can I show the world my excellency? I know, I’ll run for the Presidency.

Im having trouble even to come up with words for my feelings about this tupee'd, two faced, tool of a human being.... He's done more damage to the USA global image in 2 years of campaigning than Bush did in 8 years of presidency. The scariest part is that, even for all his boorish brashness, his arrogance and egotism, his delusion and derision, his bigotry and immaturity; despite all this, he still has a chance to win this election. It's terrifying in a very real way

I was hoping you were one of the sane Americans, after reading this I can say thank god! . Your wit is strong, you've written something that I think Jello Biafra would be proud. What bothers me about Trump is not his views, but his ignorance of what everything your forefathers stood for, intelligence, goodwill, perspective, dignity, if George Washington came out of his grave he would kill himself again not to see where America is going. I say that as someone who loves your country but am afraid of americans.

As an outsider, who had followed American politics, I really don't like Trump. He is better off being a reality TV guy.. His ideas are from stone age almost. He was talking about how he wants to take away the separation of the State and Church a few days ago too.. His take on immigrants, homosexuality, women, healthcare, foreign policy, and everything sounds to me worse than an eighth grader.. I really don't like the Republicans.. But this is man is almost too regressive even from the standards of a Republican.. Stupidest ever person, in my opinion, to run for the president of the world's strongest country.. Just plain stupid, and highly offensive.. P: S: Poemhunter should make it manditory to comment on a poen while rating it.. The one who rated this a 3 is an idiot.. Thanks Mike.. I am not sure if the opinions of an outsider makes much sense, but I really don't like this man..
