Mao Zedong's Fiercely Loyal We Were Ever Ci 毛澤東 當年忠貞為國愁

TUNE: "Innermost Feelings Outpoured" Ci
TITLE: Innermost Feelings Outpoured
- by Mao Zedong (1893-1976)
- Translated by Frank C Yue

Fiercely loyal we were ever
To our dear in-distress Country -
Ne'er afraid to have our heads sever'd!
Today, though all red is the land,
Who shall stand guard for our Motherland?

Affairs not in completion -
We're exhausted already,
Temple hair all hoary.
People of our generation -
Our life-long wish who could bear to see
All vanished, flowing towards the East?

《訴衷情》毛澤東

當年忠貞為國愁,何曾怕斷頭?
如今天下紅遍,
江山靠誰守?

業未就,身軀倦,鬢已秋;
你我之輩,忍將夙願,
付與東流?
