March Ahead. Poem by Wali Jamali

March Ahead.

Rating: 5.0

March in the hot and cold (weather) ,
There is no time to sit down.
Lest, there should be a darkness.
And you don't find the
Foot-prints of your beloved.

This is one of the rare instances where I see something which really has no rhythm or rhyme pattern to it and still call it a poem. The reason is quite simple. This was essentially written as one sentence. The only reason it is not one sentence is because of the punctuation. If fact, it can easily be read as one. A single sentence does not require rhythm or rhyme. That is because the thought is the rhyme and the rhythm is always a part of a sentence. GW62
