Margarita: The Party's Delight Poem by April Humason

Margarita: The Party's Delight

One or two, or maybe three or four,
I'm the life of the party, open the door.
No virgin, I demand twenty-one,
Since 1948, I've been having fun.
Call me sexy, I have my own day,
Popularity follows me, come what may.

Drink me in public or take me home,
I promise you'll love me, I freely roam.
Flexible as can be, I aim to please,
With a taste that's sure to put you at ease.

Cocktail me, shake me, or blend me fine,
Share me with friends, let laughter entwine.
Enjoy every sip, don't let it slip,
Down the hatch, my flavors will grip.

Tequila poured, The Rita is mixed,
Taste me now, my sweetness unfixed.
A hint of sour, with lemon or lime,
Frozen or on the rocks, it's margarita time.

Classic or fruity, the choice is yours,
Salt or sugary, I'll satisfy your cores.
Freshly squeezed or garnished with a twist,
Day or night, my presence can't be missed.

Happy hour, the clock chimes loud,
Time for my tastiness, be part of the crowd.
But a word of caution, not too much,
Morning will come, don't lose your touch.

Sleep me off, or perhaps vomit me up,
For too much of me, it's a dangerous sup.
Handle me with care, and I'll do the same,
Margarita, the party's delight, but tame.
