Marionette Poem by Christine Lockehart

Marionette

But a puppet on tangled strings am I
Longing for freedom
Yearning to be released
By a master I wish not to be controlled by

On the outside,
A pretty little doll
On the inside,
A desperate call for help
Hidden with a smile
Save me
