Marry Me? Poem by The Jester

Marry Me?

Rating: 4.5

Forgive me for asking but I cannot endure
The pain that resides in my heart anymore
As much as I long to be sorely mistaken
I cannot deny what I know.
For, and again, I am sorry to say,
If I tell you not know that my lips will betray
And I trust them not to stay where they should
If I see you when we are alone.
Worry not, I can see it as clearly as dawn
As I chose my love, I chose to be torn
Think not that I wanted at first to be so
Now I die at your want and your will.
We should be, if ever a 'we' did exist
I have dreamt for a life of the taste of your kiss
You have be by the heart and soul
So long yet a friend I am still.
I do not ask you fall for me
Though such I thing I long to see
For a moment, ease my sorrow,
I'd wait for a beautiful lie.
Each time you hold someone, and when it's not me,
You tear me apart in a way you can't see
I can't live without you, I don't want to try
There's no reason to breathe if you're not by my side.
So I put to you, come with me, and when we are through
You'll find it in your heart to love me too.
