Matrix, The Poem by Darrin McMiller Jr.

Matrix, The

Fate I can’t escape mine
Lives trapped in lies
Illusions alluding to the fact
That life is artificial
Intelligently designed
Without our best interests at mind
Have not the masses
Elite masterminds
Behind the scenes
Controlling our everyday needs
Meaning that we’re slaves
So that means that we age
And get old and we die
Without owning our lives
Realizing life was a lie
And everything we believed
Was right in front of our eyes
Was just painted on reflections
What a clever disguise
