Matthew Poem by Holly Jamestone

Matthew

I am now an angel
Had I lived, the message here
Would be to help you understand
A message strong and clear

I never got to utter
Special words to all mankind
We're born, we live, we die the same
Our souls are intertwined

I'm the same as you are
And I pray that you'll embrace
We all have brains, we all have hearts
No matter what we face

I'm the same as you are
We like girls or we like guys
The seed was set before our birth
No logic this defies

I'm the same as you are
We are equal don't you see
I won't judge you, and wish you'd held
That same regard for me

I am a gay angel and am proud
Down to my core
We're all created equal
And this fact we can't ignore
