Me - Poem by Kim Hooten

Blonde and brown head
Bowed over novels
Mind dreaming up magic
Reclusive in her bedroom

Blue eyes crying
Depression kicking in
Writings turning darker
From the author deep inside

Fake smiles shimmer
Hiding deep loneliness
As music blasts
Calling to the song within

Embrace the only source of love
That embodiment of loyalty
Trust
Hope
Joy
