Poem by Agata Konopka

Watching the clock tick away to the day of death
I wonder why we live with this pain inside
this presence that is lacking character
this awareness that is lacking fulfilment
I wonder if the answer truly lies in a God that doesn't exist
Or in a world that is full of shit
The question that eats us all
What is the meaning of it all?
Does every grain of sand in the desert know that it is living
Does every creature know that it is breathing
Lost in a question that will never be answered
I wonder shall I ever discover the secret that will save or damn my soul
Full of misgivings, secrets
and still living
Freedom has become an illusion.
