As time flows
All works of art inspired
By the magnificient Mediterranean
Poetry first and foremost
At peace with nature
And respectful of it
Have begun to appear to me
As a vast armada of antidotes
Whose vastness remains
Immeasurable indeed
Offering deep beauties
And profound insights
To souls that fall ill
For distinct reasons
As their darkness deepens
Isn't it that Mediterranean art
Which can frighten away
The stubborn death
Whose breath is always felt
Upon our necks
Like a brave lighthouse
With the soothing aid
Of the powerful searchlights
Of its universal armada?
