Mediterranean Meditations-7 Poem by Gunturk Ustun

Mediterranean Meditations-7

Rating: ★4.0

1

More poet than musician
More musician than novelist
Leonard Cohen just needed more time on Earth

2

You have known of Leonard Cohen since you were twenty-one
Yet you still cannot write poetry or song lyrics like his
The poetic Mediterranean was right in its whispered remarks about you, my gifted woman of breathtaking beauty
You should read more of him, and of the masters who influenced him, every single day, and you should create even more

3

As Leonard Cohen sings 'The Stranger Song'
From the rich library of my smartphone
My Wayfarer sunglasses removed
I look both ways as I cross the train tracks
After all, one train can always hide another
In this small and charming Mediterranean coastal town
Where I am a complete stranger

4

Leonard Cohen's beloved search for the redemptive reality
Leonard Cohen's beloved wanderings
Leonard Cohen's beloved Montreal
Leonard Cohen's beloved Hydra
Leonard Cohen's beloved New York
Leonard Cohen's beloved Los Angeles
Leonard Cohen's beloved works
His fans' beloved Leonard Cohen
