Melvin And His Snake Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Melvin And His Snake

Melvin was a scaredy cat
He always was afraid
A little girl gave him a kiss
And Melvin ran away

Children use to pick on Melvin
They showed him they were brave
One day he found a curious thing
Melvin found a snake

Melvin loved his little friend
He kept him in a shoe
One day for his, Show An Tell
Melvin took the snake to school

Melvin waited eagerly;
Until it was his turn
Melvin showed his hissing friend;
But never said a word

The class all stared with open eyes
The teacher made a scream
All the children ran away
Melvin stood there very pleased

All these months he was afraid;
Until that very day
Melvin and his little snake;
Were the bravest of the brave
