MEMOIRS
Your childhood
I want to cherish,
These precious times
I want to relish.
I am feeling so lost baby
amidst the busy life chores,
Before time slips away
I want to love you even more.
Today you plead for my time
to have my company,
Here I realise the lack of ability
and my heart cries in agony.
One day you too will grow
and enter this busy world,
Will you then have time for me baby
as these moments would soon get unfurled.
This riddle of life
am still trying to solve,
These times and moments lost
will they ever re-evolve?
So I would like to live life NOW
and be content,
I don't wanna lose my precious times too but
grab them this very moment!

I would like to translate this poem
My seven year old cousin nowadays seem to heavy to be held in my arms and the piggyback rides too feel so difficult. While another cutie I had befriended, who is just 3 years and 5 months old seem too little to be picked up and even too enthusiastic for the horseback rides, cuddles and cute kisses. Truly, as a man, I would never understand how a mother feels about her child. But looking at these two and how they mirror each other and how they are different - the seven year old was just like the three when he was of her age - I can feel that they really grow fast! ! Thank you for this sweet poem.. I cant read the Marathi script, yet poems like these speak an universal language, just like the word 'ma' - it's same everywhere... Thanks for sharing. It's beautiful and emotional...
Agree Souren, kids grow up fast and the sooner we realise this the better we can enjoy the present moment! Thanks for your comments on this write
