Memories Poem by Aisha Sherazi

Memories

What are memories,
I hold in my mind?
Videos, photographs,
Un-indexed; easy to find.

All playing in parallel,
So sweetly, as I recall,
All the memories of you dear,
You’ve kept me so enthralled.

Many images of you,
Conjured in my head,
And if I cannot meet you,
I just look there instead.

At all these things of beauty,
Accessed through my heart,
All kept behind my eyes,
Whenever we’re apart.
