Memories (Emirates Airlines) Poem by Meena Mustafa

Memories (Emirates Airlines)

Today I woke up and jumped out of bed

Looked for my uniform and hat instead

Hoping to be on a flight once again

What was I thinking…it's hard to comprehend?

For a minute, I stood still and looked at the room

Nothing looked familiar…as I had presumed

Then I felt a tear rolling down my cheek

What has life done to make me this weak?

Why did time fly with a blink of an eye?

Memories remain and just goodbyes…

I wish I could travel back in time

When my youth was all at its prime

Friends and family who loved me so dear

Now I'm scared and full of fear

Of what life will bring…its hard to tell

Who to trust …I cant foretell.
