Memory And Presence Poem by K J

Memory And Presence

Pieces of a broken mirror
I keep holding them
sadly gazing at thousand reflections
why can't it be her facing me?
what I can see I don't want to see...
this scar, tracing along
those teary eyes, unable to cry
that glimmering of insanity and madness

Why can't time be turned back?
She were sad, I'd have stroked away the tears
She were injured, my gentleness would've healed her
scarred, exposed, lonely, helpless
I would've done anything, just like her...

A gentle hand on my shoulder,
She reached for my bloody hand,
gazed at me, deeply sad, with loving brown eyes.
'All of you for me? ', she asks, knowing everything.
'Still she is asking
about the wings I had never seen,
for the reasons of that night,
but deep inside she knows the answers'

anything else fades away, as she held my trembling body
even in the silence these words repeat
'I want her back, my dearest'
