Memory Of Childhood Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Memory Of Childhood

Rating: 4.0

Down the memory lane;
Flashes sweet memories
Of childhood days,
Wandering back
To that old time,
And to that old school place,
Looking for the light
Of teacher’s grace,
One day I was asked,
To write a poem
Of teacher’s choice,
Tried and failed,
Earned the wrath
Of teacher’s voice,
That still echoes
In my mind’s space,
Sometimes when I
Dropped to sleep,
Across my drowsing mind,
Flashes sweet and young
Faces of those joyous days,
Calling me to join those ranks,
That in life will never come back.
Wicked dream plans we made,
Lesson books hanging on dusty rack,
Teacher’s voice got muted,
As we screamed and shouted,
Restless was spirit and energy,
When we were always ready,
To inflict something wicked.
Ah! Childhood days, not here today,
I look upon you as inspirational rays,
That still lingers in my mind always,
My dear where you have fled,
With sorrowing heart,
I wish to turn to you again my friend........
