Mexican Jumping Bean Poem by Juan Olivarez

Mexican Jumping Bean

Arturo ate a jumping bean,
And he started to twitch.
To me it just seemed,
That he had a bad itch.

Then he started to leap,
And run round the yard.
He looked just like a sheep,
He was jumping so hard.

Don Andres had to take him,
To see an m.d..
Cause that old jumping bean,
Wouldn't let him be.

It turns out those beans,
Have some type of worm.
And though it's protein,
It had started to turn.

Dedicated to my compadre Arturo Elizondo.
