Midnight Snow - Poem by Borna Kapovic

When midnight struck
Upon my clock
A twist of fate
Abbandoned by luck
I shiver at ease

A wicked laughter
The morning after
This night so cold
Will never bring peace

And every constelation
Prophets doom
Upon this nation
And evil omens
Glare above
How much longer,
How much,
My dying love?

A message from afar
A shooting star
A letter from you
Another scar
I studder astound

You sworn to burn
Till I return
My every letter
And so I yearn
For summers lost

And all this hurt
Of which I'm alert
Won't ever stop
I want to desert
This fragile shell

Growing numb
I shall succumb
To darkness and void
And the day will come
I'll fade away

Darkness fall
To bed I crawl
Hoping for sleep
I hear your call
A distant weep

And when my eyes are closed
And my mind exposed
Horrifying melodies
Nightmares composed
A haunting dream

A pale moon
Far too soon
Scared me awake
For I dreamt of june
For the last time

And now I grieve
I can't believe
You were so close
A dream can decieve
I curse aloud

With growing despair
I try to spare
My weeping heart
To darkness I stare
A black cloud

A storm breaks
The ground shakes
I sit and watch
How my soul aches
I dare not speak

Morning draws near
And summons fear
Upon my face
The light is clear
I cry with the dawn

And never again
And not even then
Will I find my way back
I've lost all my men
I sleep in the snow.
