Mind Under Siege (About My Best Friend Brian D'souze)
In a land where humor thrives, a tale unfolds,
of a mind under siege, where laughter explodes.
There once was a fellow, named Brian D'Souze,
whose mind was a place of constant unease.
Ideas and thoughts would vigorously collide,
leaving poor Brian's psyche on a wild roller ride.
One morning at breakfast, his mind was under attack,
As his toast popped up loudly, causing a snack jack,
he jumped in the air, with a scream so loud,
and landed face-first, in a buttery cloud.
His mind played games, like a mischievous elf,
turning everyday moments into laughter itself,
while he tried to comb his hair, it chuckled and jeered,
looping his locks into a mustache so weird.
At work, his boss asked for a crucial report,
but Brian's mind, oh, it loved to distort.
Instead of numbers and graphs, it conjured a jest,
leaving the office in stitches, quite impressed.
On a date with a redhead, Brian's mind pulled a trick,
turning his face as red as a newly picked brick,
confusing his words, like a linguistic maze,
he stumbled on phrases, in a comedic daze.
Even in his dreams, his mind couldn't rest,
creating scenarios that put comedy to the test.
Instead of flying freely through the night sky,
he tripped on a cloud, causing giggles nearby.
Through every mishap, Brian found inner peace,
embracing the antics of his mind's playful release.
For laughter, he learned, could soothe his soul,
and keep his mind under control.
(cont.) ....WHATEVER 'that' means! ! (moving ahead in the poem) ..'Snack jack' or was it 'snackjack'? AND 'buttey cloud; were/are BOTH a bit of a mystery for me. The site Urban Dictionary tried to help with snack jack. I'd say more, but 'Time Marches On' & 'Time Waits for No Man'.
(cont.) I forgot to speak of the 'psyche' in the poem, specifically 'Brian's psyche'. Besides being 'The 16th planetoid, discovered by De Gasparis at Naples in 1852', 'psyche' (with a small 'p') means 'The human soul or spirit or mind'.... (cont)
(cont.) Why did I 'explain' Cupid? It is simple to figure out IF you have time to search online as I do (at times) . Simply and quickly: Psyche was a mythological princess and she and Cupid were lovers, & I think they married. Easy.

Perfect with the title, you justified the title with wonderful poem on your friend, hope HE is not offended by this poem. Loved it.

WITH some 'minor reservations' [..... I DON'T MEAN like a restaurant 'table for two' ]....as I've stated in my comments, I've still enjoyed the poem a great deal.
'newly picked brick' Is that a genetically modified building stone which grows on trees and adss LOTS of FIBER to one's diet? ? ? GOOD IDEA!
