The horrible incident occurred last night,
As I broke my favourite mirror, my great mirror angrily,
When all my friends and admirers of the world praised me effusively,
My loving mirror criticized me harshly,
I could not control myself,
Being livid with rage I brutally broke my beloved reflector into different pieces.
When I accomplished the heinous deed,
An obnoxious shadow began to float in front of my eyes,
It cruelly laughed at me and rebuked me in a gruff voice,
"The mirror criticized you rightly,
Your soul has become dirty and cloudy,
The entire world has deceived you,
But you have not understood it with your insensitive and hasty feelings."
I screamed in deep pain and frustration,
But it was too late.

I am forgetting which Fairy Tale it is in which a mirror mocks a viewer: very powerful imagery, and quite frightening in a poetically effective way.
