Misguided Mentalities Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Misguided Mentalities

Too many of us,
Soon forget.
Whether purposely or not,
Who had been at their side...
With a providing them encouragement.
When their own parents,
Chose to ignore.
Or supply this need.

People like this,
Grow to have others believe...
They had been treated intentionally,
Disrespectfully.
By either an older sibling.
Or a neighbor concerned,
About their needs.
Done with sacrificing,
Unselfishly.

But this is not to be told,
To those deceived by false beliefs.
And involved they become,
Along with children growing to succumb.
To lies to them told.
As they grow older to tell themselves.

Left received.
And in them to believe.
Misguided mentalities.
Had been the best advisors,
In their dysfunctional to live lives!
