'' Mistakes They Need Never Regret '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Mistakes They Need Never Regret ''

When politicians invoke a war,
This decision they'll claim they abhor,
Don't dare ask them what it's for,
An answer you will never get.

Family and friends may well die,
Sympathy I'm afraid is in short supply,
Fault I'm afraid they'll then deny,
To mourn you'd better get set.

Bombs and bullets will maim and kill,
Lies and deceit they'll then instil,
To die they'll say you had the will,
They'll claim they are in your debt.

A medal for dying will ease your woes,
Your views on them you must not impose,
The brutal truth you must not expose,
It brings them out in a sweat.

They're never wrong but always right,
To revel in glory they take great delight,
The facts will prove that none of them fight,
On that you can place a bet.

As long as you win they'll take the praise,
Lose and you'll leave them in a daze,
Their total hypocrisy will forever amaze,
