Modern Saints Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Modern Saints

Modern saints

Country or no country
It is in the name of almighty
Under the cover of sainthood
The recent disclosure boils our blood

Not only poor
But rich and clever
Fall in their trap
They tighten the grip

The media helps in coverage
The hired people speak in favor and manage
They pretend to be holy and above lust
Their link with sex racket has lost our trust

The collection of money is their main motto
The place, where they live, undergoes
With activities not befitting to status
They are cheaters under the name of Sadhus*(saints)

The laws allow them freedom
No one uses enough of wisdom
They should be arrested
Their properties should be confiscated

People still face starvation
Whereas these people live in air condition room
Spend nights with call girls
All under the name of one man’s religion

All in the name of one man's religion. Yes, the very sad thing we see around us today. Nice work.
