MOONLIT SOLILOQUY

O moon, glowing with your golden
sheen,
You bathe the earth with your liquid
gold,
On every full moon night!
Keep your golden shining face -
Secure and safe and protected well,
From those dark clouds which
float accross in the night,
Covering your golden face;
Depriving us mortals down below,
From your lustrous charm and
benign grace!
For your glowing beams usher in,
Those happy hours, to us earthlings!
Having inspired lovers and poets alike,
For many moons past and eons of time!
May you continue to reign supreme,
Like the Queen Mab with your golden
orb and sheen; -
As the eternal queen of the sky at night,
As the mighty sol rules over our day!
