More Or Less? Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

More Or Less?

Looking around; you can imagine the best
Aim for inner joy from what is possessed
What ranks highest on your wishing list
Can you remove what you’ve never missed

Accumulate things that are bought with gold
The value is in the eyes of those who behold
Objects and precious things take up spac.
Are they worth what they ultimately replace

Filling your world with volumes of treasures
Camouflaging what your inspiration measures
Blocking the view of exploration and wonder
Possessions embezzle your creative thunder

While basking in the radiance of having, you boast
You are in your glory; you have gained the utmost
Unaware of what you have lost... in the afterglow
The thirst of your imagination… no longer grows
