Morning Rain Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Morning Rain

Rating: 5.0

It is raining outside. I
Watch the water drops
Falling in strings through
The windows. Some hang
Onto leaves and fronds for
A while before slithering
Down to gather into pools.
Cattle shiver as cool drops run
Down their bodies tickling
Them. Birds shake wings
To create rainbows around
Their tiny bodies. Worms
Drag away by thin runnels
To be deposited at the mouth
Of the stream. Everything seem
Wet and cold. Even my eyes.
Thinking this drumming and
Singing will vanish in a month
And I will wake up to chilly mornings.
