Most Precious Star Poem by Virginie Yargeau

Most Precious Star

Notes invoke the deepest of feelings,
Just as your eyes drape my skin.
Sounds send gentle chills down my spine,
As if it were you whispering in my ear.

The touch I miss and kisses I long,
Are spared by the music that makes me belong.
The chorus of colors and swirling river,
As if it was with you, make my breath quiver.

But your eyes are never to be the same,
Your arms cannot protect me.
From where you are, I cannot blame,
The thought that I will never be free.

Every mention of you sends memories passing,
Every thought that you could be with another.
All opportunity I have, I am seizing,
To avoid imagining you with her.

I wish I could close my eyes and be with you,
Feel your perfect breath sidle along my lips.
See your face and imagine what you could do,
Feel your strong hands brush my stomach, my hips.

Anything that my mind puts together,
Will never be enough to satisfy me.
You are every inspiration that feeds my hunger,
For the makeshift, passionate and voiceless art that sets me free.

I close my eyes.
Breathe you in,
Imagine timeless skies,
As a heartbreaking sight brushes my skin.

I am too mindless,
I cannot transfer even a thought.
To hope is ruthless,
How will I belong in such a lot?

You are here,
With every essence of my being.
There is more than one fear,
But one thought of you makes it worth living.

You understand, even though we are apart,
You are why I breathe.
You know me to the very soul of my heart.
You see every thought that I conceive.

You know my limit,
You remember every detail.
You feel every emotion that I inhibit,
Even if you know that I can be frail.

You are far,
Your are closer than gravity.
You are the most precious star,
You are perfect to me.
